The History of YETI

It’s no surprise that YETI products have been some of our top sellers! The brand has quickly become beloved by John John Florence, Jimmy Chin, and Leon Bridges to the point that we see bumper stickers with people making fun of themselves for their cult-like obsession.

That said, the brand didn’t just pop up out of nowhere. The 15-year old company has slowly been cultivating their following since the release of their initial cooler. Brothers Roy and Ryan Seiders created their initial product after replacing their coolers seasonally. They found that most of what was available just didn’t hold up to their outdoor adventures.

“The handles would break, the latches would snap off, and the lids would cave in”

So they created something that could take the “abuse” they “put it through out in the field and on the water. One that simply wouldn’t break.”

The Timeline

2006: YETI Coolers was founded (in their dad’s garage) with a simple mission: build the cooler we’d use every day if it existed.

2008: The company begins selling Tundra, the signature YETI hard-shell cooler, through retailers such as Cabela’s and Bass Pro.

April 2014: 20 oz. and 30 oz. Rambler Tumblers are introduced (which is one of our bestsellers)!

July 2014: The Hopper soft cooler line is introduced (which is particularly popular for us in Summer and Fall).

March 2015: The Colster can holder debuts.

October 2015: The 10 oz. Rambler Lowball debuts.

April 2016: 18oz., 36oz., and 64oz. Rambler Bottles are introduced (the 18 oz. is another Lennox Co. favorite and best seller)!

May 2016 - September 2017: YETI produces its first feature film, Charged, and is released in fall 2017.

November 2020: Lennox Company starts distributing YETI products.

While inventory for these in-demand products can be limited and lead times can be long, we believe that it's worth the wait. Many corporate gifts have short life cycles but not these treasured tumblers, bottles, and coolers. Regardless of your recipient's lifestyle, these products will be used by your office-mates, outdoor enthusiasts, urban adventurers, tailgaters, and backyard barbecue kings for years to come.
